CALLING ALL CREATIVES
The Messengers are launching a new quarterly print magazine this summer, and we want you to join us on this journey of exploration.
The inaugural issue, DEBRIEF, asks us to reflect on the last year and examine through our creative senses the ways in which we’ve been affected by the pandemic, social injustice, politics, and other societal forces influencing our personal worlds. Isolated. Restless. Stimulated. Deep thinking. No thinking. Overthinking. Inspired. Bored. Content. Creatively flowing. Artistic doldrums.
If you know us, we implore you to dive below the surface and probe beyond the literal.
How have you changed? What is time? Where does it exist? Are you reaching for something you cannot find? Does this matter? Do you? What have you learned? Why are you doing this? What do you want to share?
The Messengers will select and curate submissions as parts of the whole, pieces of a puzzle that connect to tell a larger story with abstract cohesion. While this may seem vague and broad, we are doing so with intention, leaving room for your interpretation.
So, where do you start? First, review The Tenets and decide which you will apply during this process. Next, formulate your concept, considering how you can creatively represent your work in a print magazine. Now you’re ready to begin making the make.
